Stupid fanfic. Why it must always get written between the hours of 2 and 3 in the morning, when I have a 9:30 class the next day... Right, here we go. White War-verse Dresden Files fanfiction. Our Hero goes after a target, and, well, fails. For a bit. PG-13. I'm not terribly pleased with the title, so if you have a better suggestion I'd be grateful. ( Surprises ) |

I'm worried about my power cord. It seems like it's about to break. The rubber bit where it attaches to the computer is broken, and I can see the wires. Currently I've taped the hell out of it in hopes of keeping it from wearing out further, but I'm wondering if I ought to order a new one anyway. Also wondering if that falls under extraordinary expenses and therefore payable by my parents, seeing as how I'm flat broke at the moment and the damn thing costs seventy-nine dollars. Fuck, computers are expensive. I could, of course, purchase it from my savings account, but as that is money meant for after college or for the direst of emergencies, I'd rather not use it if there's any other possible option. Which there may not be. I'll just call and ask my mom tomorrow, I guess. Ah well. On the bright side, I am reacquainting myself both with Terry Pratchett (Guards! Guards!) and Sherwood Smith (Crown Duel) while working my way through The Dresden Files (currently on Summer Knight) in preparation for White Night's release on April 3rd. Staying strong and not reading any of the copies floating around. I am stronk! Grrr. I'm also considering doing a fanfic commentary for Holy Wars on my journal, inspired by honorh and her commentary for Seed Pearls, her lovely Doctor Who fanfic that actually gave me Nine/Rose in a believable fashion. The problem, of course, is both that Holy Wars is not yet finished (but almost; so..close...) and that I'm not sure if anyone would be interested. Leave me a note here if that's something you'd be interested in reading. Hop over to honorh's journal if you'd like to see what it would probably look like, or else reread The Princess Bride. Something like that. Actually, reread The Princess Bride anyway, why don't you? |
